I have never been a huge fan of shopping in stores, and as stores have generally gotten bigger and bigger, I have found them increasingly dizzying and overwhelming. I love the tiny boutique experience. I love the niche well edited offerings, and I especially love the individualized service. Altogether it is a far more human interaction with the retail world. That is when I'm in the mood to wander around shopping...
Most often, I'd much rather go to my computer and within a few clicks purchase anything I need. Even browsing is far more efficient over the internet, as I can bop from one favourite website to another as fast as my internet connection will take me (which is truly quite fast). Love that!
Alas, internet shopping has generally been wrought with disappointment because too often I find my purchases cannot be shipped to my home in Canada, or even if they can, too often the additional charges are ludicrous. Slowly, Canadian shipping has been offered by more and more retailers, and over the last year I find there has been unprecedented growth in Canadian specific websites for many! Internet shopping bliss!! I love simplicity, and I love the great service a Canadian website that offers free shipping to boot - awesomeness!!
My latest discovery is that Kiehl's www.kiehls.ca (which isn't available at places like Sephora) has a Canadian website, and they offer free shipping on all orders over $60.
Even Bobbi Brown just got a Canadian website www.bobbibrown.ca. Check it out if you need any products as they are having a welcome promotion.
Another cool Canadian make-up website is www.murale.ca, they also have many brands that Sephora does not carry.
