Luscious Lemonade

Given the Indian summer we seem to be having I thought it would be fair enough to share this rather summery drink. I first met this little beauty during the summer at a pub called The Burgundy Lion in Montreal, down on rue Notre Dame. I don't officially have their recipe, but my attempts at reproducing it have received positive reviews (OK, rave reviews) therefore I feel safe sharing.

In a tall glass, mix equal parts of vodka and Limoncello (amount depends on how strong you want the drink to be, I put about a finger width or so of each), fill the glass 3/4 full with a good quality lemonade (either squeeze your own, or buy the all natural Tropicana or Simply brands), then add a generous few sprigs of fresh mint, stir, and fill the remainder of the glass with ice. To endless summers!

In case you aren't familiar with it, Limoncello is an Italian sweet lemon liquor. Many different brands make it, and it is readily available at any liquor store, even the SAQ in Quebec.

A friendly warning, this drink is totally smooth and delicious, and you have to be careful not to get carried away. As always, enjoy in mindful moderation.

Cheers!
